Jazz Sailor is a creative research project developed by Angelo Gregorio, exploring the deep connection between jazz music and sailing.

At first glance, jazz and sailing may seem like two distant worlds. One belongs to sound and improvisation, the other to wind and navigation. Yet both share a fundamental principle: the ability to adapt in real time.

In jazz, musicians improvise by reacting to harmony, rhythm and interaction with other players. In sailing, sailors constantly adjust their course according to wind, waves and environmental conditions. In both cases, technique meets intuition.

Jazz Sailor was born from this parallel. Through research, interviews and artistic experimentation, the project investigates how musical improvisation and sailing practice reflect similar cognitive and emotional processes.

The project has developed into concerts, lectures and original compositions, where music becomes a way to communicate not only artistic ideas, but also values such as awareness, listening and adaptability.

Jazz Sailor is not only a musical project. It is a way of thinking, creating and navigating between disciplines.
