Caravaggio is the debut album by the Via Toledo Jazz Quartet, a project led by emerging saxophonist Angelo Gregorio. Joining him are Bruno Castellucci, the legendary drummer known for his collaborations with Toots Thielemans; Paolo Loveri, a prominent Belgian guitarist; Fil Caporali, a Brazilian double bassist and winner of the 2016 Toots Thielemans Award; and special guest Marco Sannini, a celebrated trumpeter from Naples.

Nine of the ten tracks are composed by Angelo Gregorio, showcasing a sound deeply rooted in tradition while highlighting the instrumental brilliance of each soloist. The album’s structured melodies and harmonically rich surprises make it a truly enjoyable listen. Castellucci’s masterful drumming and Loveri’s deft guitar work provide a solid foundation for Gregorio’s bold and virtuosic solos. The passion these five musicians share for jazz, combined with their evident joy in performing these ten tracks, resonates in every note, delivering an album full of energy and artistry.
